There are two Chapter initiatives that stand out however: the creations of the Green Building Resource Center and the ability to expand the Chapter’s professional staff.

The search is now open to add a full-time Director of Development to the Chapter staff.  This is a strategic opportunity to expand the Chapter’s outreach efforts made possible in part from a Chapter Capacity Building Grant from the USGBC.  More information on this opportunity and candidate application processes can be found in the Careers Section of the Chapter’s website.

This addition to the staff is also necessary for us to realize the full potential of the Chapter’s biggest project to date – creating the Green Building Resource Center (GBRC).   The GBRC will be a showcase for green building technologies and a hub for outreach to both building professionals and the community.  You can find out more about the GBRC Design Competition that opened on June 25th at www.greenbuildingresourcecenter.org. There will be many opportunities for Chapter members to get involved with this project. Please watch the website and newsletter for updates.

Thank you all for your hard work to get the Chapter off to a great start for 2012.  Let’s continue to build on this momentum as we work to make North Texas more sustainable for everyone.
