RadioShack Riverfront Campus accommodates approximately 2,400 employees and features 600,000 square feet of state-of-the-art office space and 300,000 square feet of support and employee amenity space. Aggressive incorporation of sustainable and environmentally responsible design strategies earned the campus the distinction of the largest project in Texas to qualify for LEED-Silver Certification when occupied.

Part of the Trinity Uptown project, the corporate campus transforms 38 acres of previously blighted development and restores the existing natural area along the Trinity River floodplain. Responding to its urban site and suburban character, the headquarters incorporates two different public faces. The urban side reflects the Fort Worth central business district with liberal use of red brick, Texas limestone and a fountain running the length of a plaza for all citizens to enjoy. The suburban side faces the Trinity River with walls of low-E glass, walk-out balconies and a wide greenbelt featuring native grasses and plants extends to the river’s edge.

RadioShack identified process refinement and productivity improvement as significant goals. Recognizing that workplace can have a significant influence on these goals, HKS focused on an open-plan solution with collaborative teaming and commons areas, along with wireless computer network connections, which enhanced interaction among teams supporting creative, customer-centric business solutions. With underfloor air distribution, each of the campus’ 30,000-square-foot office floors incorporates collaborative, open work settings including those for the most senior officers.
