Douglas W. Ekstrom, P.E., LEED AP BD+C, CxA

Doug Ekstrom is Director – Commissioning Services at Jacobs.  He has a diverse engineering background working in all three disciplines, mechanical, electrical, & plumbing (MEP) that includes design, project management, construction administration, and commissioning experience. He has worked on many LEED projects in both design and commissioning capacities, ranging from LEED Certified to Platinum and from New Construction to Existing Building. 

Doug has an accomplished reputation as a public speaker on sustainable design & commissioning practices. As a licensed Professional Engineer, LEED AP, and Commissioning Authority, Doug enjoys being a thoughtful steward to the environment via good design practices and validated implementation of practical applications.  His projects have included Corporate Headquarters, Health Care, Retirement Facilities, Commercial Office Buildings, Retail, Restaurants, K-12 and Higher Education, Warehouses, and Tenant Finish as well as Municipal, Corporate, and University Campuses. 

A Graduate of Kansas State University with a BS in Architectural Engineering, Doug has 15 years of experience in the construction industry. 

Mr. Ekstrom is currently acting as the Board’s liaison representative to the chapter’s Communications Committee.
